Results Fall Auctions 2016
26. - 30. September 2016 | Steigenberger Hotel Remarque, Osnabrück
Dear bidders and coin enthusiasts,
On Friday, September 30, 2016 our Fall-Auctions 280-284 came to an end. We are glad that we were able to welcome more than 400 bidders personally on the floor. In total more than 2,600 bidders attended the auction. The 5,700 lot numbers realized a total hammer price of 11,8 million euros (estimate 8.2 million euros).
Many of the auctioned rarities reached remarkable results, for example, the most expensive piece of the auction week: a very rare Aureus of Vespasianus (lot number 541) with a hammer price of € 300,000 euros (estimate: 30,000 euros). In addition to the impressive individual results, Künker is also a good place to dissolve entire collections. This time we even have been able to auction off three special collections. The Hannelore Scheiner collection (Roman Coins) and the Luc Smolderen collection "European History in the context of medals” exceeded twice the estimate. Further the Dr Heinrich Neumann collection with coins and medals of Pomerania reached nearly twice the estimate.
Further, we would like to mention our 13th auction of orders and decorations (Auction 284, part 1). The second part of this auction (with more than 1,250 lots) will be held on October 5 and 6 as an internet auction (starting always at 6.00 p.m. CET), on our website www.eLive-Auction.de.
All results can be checked in detail on our website www.kuenker.com.
We are very much looking forward to seeing you in London again at our cooperation auction with London Coin Galleries Ltd on November 1st, 2016 where we will auction off the second part of the Preussag Collection. The auction catalogue will be available online on Thursday, October 6th at kuenker.com.
Best regards from Osnabrück,
