Результаты Winter Auction Sales - Orders and Decorations | Coins from the Ancient World

13. - 15. ноябрь 2023 | Vienna House Remarque, Osnabrück

Dear bidders, friends of medals and coin enthusiasts,

Our Winter Auction Sales 395-397 ended early Wednesday evening with a total hammer price of 5.6 million Euros (not including buyers premium). This represents an increase of more than 80% over the previous set estimate of 3.1 million Euros.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our bidders from near and far for their strong participation in the auction!

As usual, we have compiled some highlights from the past three days for you below. In addition to important individual pieces, we would also like to mention some special series and collections that we were able to offer this week.

On Monday, we were able to present several impressive collections of orders, decorations and medals from royal and private collections in our Auction 395. The collection of Prussian orders and decorations with a focus on the “Red Eagle Order” achieved a total hammer price of roughly 80% above the estimate. The estate of the Silesian line of the House of Württemberg was also very strongly contested by our bidders. The very rare pieces, which had been unseen at the former owner for almost 100 years, were characterized by their incredibly complete provenance. These special conditions led to a hammer price that was almost 5 times the set estimate. We would like to thank our cooperation partner - the Philipp Württemberg Art Advisory GmbH - for the excellent and successful collaboration.

Catalog 396 presented parts 7 and 8 of the Dr. W.R. Collection. The Roman provincial and Roman imperial coins of the late Republic achieved a hammer price of three times the estimate. The catalog is characterized above all by the numerous exciting historical background information on the coins, which was appreciated by our bidders with some very high bids.

In catalog 397, the Dr. Conzen and Maitre Robert Schuman collections formed the core of the catalog. Once again, it was evident that collections that have been assembled over several decades with a focus on quality, rarity and provenance lead to high hammer prices.

The total result of the two catalogs 396 and 397 with coins from the ancient world was 4.3 million Euros and thus more than 70% above the estimate.

We would like to thank our bidders, consignors and customers from all over the world for their loyalty and the trust they have placed in us.

On Friday, November 17, 2023 and Saturday, November 18, 2023, you will have the opportunity to bid on further numismatic rarities and numismatic literature from our auctions 398 and 399 on www.eLive-Auction.de

Best regards from Osnabrück
Your Künker Team
