Neither the mint (in Syria or Cilicia) nor the named Regulus can be identified with certainty. It is possible that Reg(u)lus is Q. Articuleius Regulus, whose functions are mentioned in an inscription from Canusium written after 2 BC (CIL 9, 331): Q(uinto) Articuleio / Regulo / pr(aetori), proco(n)s(uli). leg(ato) / Imp(eratoris) Caesaris Aug(usti) p(atris) p(atriae), / patrono. Possibly strategos refers to an activity as a legate of the Syrian governor.
Weder die Prägestätte (in Syrien oder Kilikien) noch der genannte Regulus lassen sich sicher identifizieren. Möglicherweise handelt es sich bei Reg(u)lus um Q. Articuleius Regulus, dessen Funktionen in einer nach 2 v. Chr. abgefassten Inschrift aus Canusium (CIL 9, 331) genannt sind: Q(uinto) Articuleio / Regulo / pr(aetori), proco(n)s(uli). leg(ato) / Imp(eratoris) Caesaris Aug(usti) p(atris) p(atriae), / patrono. Möglicherweise bezieht sich strategos auf eine Tätigkeit als Legat des syrischen Gouverneurs.
