Dear bidders and friends of medals and coins,
Our eLive Auction 80 will take place from Monday, December 4 to Friday, December 8, 2023. We will offer around 3,900 lots with Orders and Decorations from all over the world as well as Coins and Medals from the Ancient World as well as the Medieval and Modern Times.
The auction begins on Monday, December 4 at 4 p.m. with orders and decorations, including the 13th part of the Peter Groch Collection: this includes the second part of the duplicates of the Iron Cross and the duplicates of civilian awards of the so-called Weimar Republic. This is followed by orders, decorations and certificates from various collections as well as orders-related literature. We also present an extensive range of German orders and decorations, including series from Baden, Bavaria, Oldenburg, Prussia, the Iron Cross, Saxony and Württemberg, the German Reich from 1871 to 1933, the soldiers' and veterans' associations, the so-called Third Reich and the Federal Republic of Germany. The European decorations include series from the Belgian Congo, Denmark, Finland, France, Great Britain, Italy, the Order of Malta, Austria, the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, Sweden, Spain, the Ottoman Empire and Hungary. Finally, there are awards from Ethiopia, China, Japan and Persia, among others.
On Tuesday, December 5, 2023, our online auction will start at 2 p.m.. First of all, we would like to present a very interesting selection of Coins from the Ancient World, here we would like to draw your attention to the Westphalian private collection "Multiple Portraits on Coins and Medals". The pieces in this collection not only show interesting depictions, but are also rare and have good provenances. The last three days of the auction will be dedicated entirely to coins from the Medieval and Modern Times. Among the European coins and medals, we would like to recommend an impressive series of French gold and silver coins with some rarities as well as a collection of Russian coins. From the territory of the Habsburg hereditary lands of Austria, we have compiled an extensive collection of mainly talers in beautiful condition. Finally, we present a collection of coins from Brunswick and a small selection of coins from Schleswig-Holstein with some rarities.
We hope you enjoy studying the auction.
Best regards from Osnabrück
