IONIA AR, Cistophoric tetradrachm, year 86 (= 49/48 BC), EPHESOS Praetor C. Fannius and local magistrate Aratos,
25 mm, 12.40 g.
Cista Mystica within ivy wreath with corymbas//C · FAN · PONT · PR, two serpents, their tails entwined, flanking domed dystile temple surmounted by cult statue holding patera and sceptre, headdress of Isis to left, ΕΦΕ and date ΠϚ (= 86) above, to right burning torch, in exergue ARATOC.
