Our Fall Auctions 445 and 446 concluded with a world record. A 20-mark coin of Ernst II of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha from 1872, from the collection of a physicist, sold for 170,000 euros against an estimate of 100,000 euros. This makes it the most expensive Imperial gold coin ever sold at auction. A 20-ducat coin of Ferdinand II from the collection of Commercial Councilor Dr. Herbert Wenzel also fetched 170,000 euros.
In total, over 2,600 lots with a combined estimate of 4.9 million euros went under the hammer. The final sales totaled approximately 9.1 million euros.
