Description
KÖNIGREICH Directoire, 1795-1799. Bronzemedaille 1796, von R. Gayrard und R. V. Jeuffroy, auf die Schlacht von Montenotte am 12. April. Uniformiertes Brustbild Napoléons r.//Siegesgöttin mit Schwert, Palmzweig und Kranz fliegt r. über Erdhalbkugel. 40,36 mm; 40,10 g. Slg. Julius 491; Zeitz 1.
Feine Kupferpatina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz
Montenotte liegt in der ligurischen Provinz Savona. Im Jahr 1805 benannte er in Erinnerung an seinen Sieg das neugeschaffene Departement Montenotte (mit Savona als Hauptstadt).
Die Stempel für die vorliegende Medaille wurden erst 1813 nachträglich angefertigt.
