Wahrscheinlich steht der Gegenstempel mit den nach dem Frieden von Apameia (188 v. Chr.) vom Seleukiden Antiochos III. an den Attaliden Eumenes II. geleisteten Reparationszahlungen in Zusammenhang, die wohl nicht in seleukidischem Reichsgeld zu erbringen waren. Die Gegenstempelung fand wohl in den Jahren 188-183 v. Chr. statt. It is likely that the countermark is connected to the reparation payments that the Seleucid ruler Antiochus III had to make to the Attalid ruler Eumenes II after the Treaty of Apamea (188 BC), which probably did not have to be paid in Seleucid imperial money. The countermark was probably created in the years between 188 and 183 BC. On this cf.
