Results Spring Auction Sales 402-406

Dear bidders and coin enthusiasts,

Friday afternoon at 5:30pm the last item of this year’s Spring Sales crossed the auction block in Osnabrück. The part of our Spring Auction Sales that was auctioned in the hall has thus been concluded with great success! The total hammer price was 9.35 million Euros, an impressive 75% above the once set estimate.

Over the past few days, we were once again able to prove that Künker is the right address when it comes to selling a special collection or high-quality individual items. In the recently concluded auction sessions, we were able to present six special collections, all of which enjoyed great popularity among our numerous bidders from all over the world.

The "Dr. Sayar Collection - Greek Coins from Asia Minor (catalog 402)" kicked off the auction, which on average only changed hands at more than three times the estimate. This was followed by the collection "Coins and Medals of the Popes - The Important Special Collection of a Southwest German Entrepreneur (catalog 403)". The Vatican coinage fetched an average of 2.5 times the set estimate. The items in catalog 404: "Mainz: Coins and Medals - The Collection of Prof. Dr. Eckhart Pick, Part II" also improved significantly compared to their estimate, with the hammer price here being 50% higher than the catalog estimate. The coins in the Regensburg special collection (catalog 405) also followed this trend, only selling after we reached more than double the catalog estimate. The Löwenstein-Wertheim collection included in catalog 406 and the German Patterns from 1871 onwards from the Coenen collection also improved by an average of 60% in relation to the estimate.

Also worth mentioning are the results for the coins from the Habsburg hereditary lands and Austria: both the extensive series in gold and silver doubled compared to their original valuation in the catalog!
