Unter Sultan Abdülmecid I. (1823-1861, reg. seit 1839) wurde im Jahre 1853 [AH 1270] das dritte Modell der Iftihar-Medaille [İftihâr Madalyasι] in zwei Stufen (Gold und Silber) eingeführt und ab 1854 als Zivil- und Militär-Verdienstmedaille vergeben. Sie wurde auch als Medaille des Iftihar-Ordens [Nişân-ι İftihâr Madalyasι] bezeichnet.
