Results Fall Auction Sales 2017
25. - 29. September 2017 | Steigenberger Hotel Remarque, Osnabrück
Dear bidders and coin enthusiasts,
Today our Fall-Auctions 295-299 came to an end. We are glad that we were able to welcome more than 400 bidders personally on the floor. In total more than 2,600 bidders attended the auction. The 5,800 lot numbers realized an amazing total hammer price of 12 million euros (60% over the estimate).
Many of the auctioned rarities reached remarkable results, for example, the most expensive piece of the auction week: a very atttractive 5 Pounds-piece 1826 of George IV which reached a hammer price of 200,000 euros.
In addition to the impressive individual results, Künker has proven once again to be a good place to dissolve entire collections. This time we even have been able to auction off six special collections. The Collection of coins and medals of Reformation from Dr. Rainer Opitz and the Collection of Etruscan coins from Dr. Rolf Tetzlaff-Gahrmann exceeded one and the half time over their estimates. The Prof. Herbert Stricker Collection and the History Lover's Collection doubled their estimates. The rarities of the Phoibos Collection almost tripled over the estimate. We have closed the auction week with the Ottoman Collection, part 2, which reached more than 3 times over the estimate.
We are looking forward to welcome you to our jubilee Berlin Auction No. 300 the day before the World Money Fair 2018 in Berlin on February 1rst, 2018.
Best regards from Osnabrück,
